6:30 PM
Following the first Joanna Leach Memorial Recital, given by Andreas Boyde, described as “a red-letter day for lovers of the piano” in a review in the Midweek Herald, the second recital in this series will be at St Paul’s Church, Honiton, on Saturday, March 3, at 7.30pm.
International Lieder artists Stephan Loges (baritone, pictured below) and Alexander Schmalcz (piano), will perform songs by Brahms and Schumann’s Dichterliebe.
The exciting young violinist Emmanuel Bach, is appearing for the first time in Devon.
He will be playing Beethoven’s Spring Sonata, accompanied by Jenny Stern, who was Joanna’s duet partner for many years.
All the artists in this series were Joanna Leach’s close friends and musical colleagues. They have offered their services and talents in celebration of her life and contribution to music.
Most have recorded CDs issued on her labels - Athene and Athene-Minerva.
All the recitals in the series are supporting Hospiscare.”
