Puss in Boots opens in Axminster on Thursday evening after months of rehearsals and backstage preparations.

The rags to riches story which has cats, cows and sausages in it, but not necessarily in that order, involves a cast with a range of experience, from some regulars on the Axminster stage, to others who are bringing a new dimension to the club’s productions.

Talented professional actor Tucker Stephens will be in his first dame role in Axminster as Dame Dolly Mixture, supported by the experienced Caroline Markham and Eileen Stuart as her new shop assistants, Kerry Cable as her son Ben and a newcomer to the club, Grant Jones as the butcher’s boy.

In addition, there are a number of familiar faces in other supporting roles, including Mel Ayres as Puss himself, and a talented and lively cast of over 40 youngsters, performing in different teams during the production.

Under the direction of Jack Price, this year’s show is being performed from Thursday, January 15, to Saturday, January 17, at 7.30pm, with a matinee on the Saturday, at 2.30pm.

Tickets have been selling well at Archway Bookshop, Church Street, Axminster.

Call 01297 33595 for ticket details - there are still a few left.
