The River Cottage Spring Food Fair, is set to be a hit with adults and children alike.

The fair provides the perfect opportunity to get the whole family down to River Cottage, to explore the farm nestled in the stunning East Devon countryside and to celebrate the majesty of the spring season and all it has to offer.

Under-16s go free and will be kept entertained with a plethora of free activities, including forest school, where youngsters will connect with nature and have fun building shelters and collecting wood for campfires. The Spring Fair’s new bee area is set to be a great success – as well as learning about the insects and their role in sustaining the planet’s ecosystems, children can try their hand at beeswax candle making. Other workshops include felting and lucet braiding, pottery and natural woodcraft.

Children will enjoy having their faces painted by Rainbow Gecko, who will also be engulfing youngsters in giant bubbles! Excess energy can be burned off welly wanging or hula hooping.

The whole family will enjoy the free farm and garden tours – a great chance to take a peek behind the scenes at River Cottage HQ! Everyone can marvel together at the falconry displays and enjoy the excitement of the ferret racing.

There’s a whole animal area to be enjoyed and even the opportunity for little ones to enjoy a donkey ride!

Nobody will go hungry as River Cottage Street Food joins forces with local artisan producers to open up a world of delicious dishes.

New for 2017 is the chance to enjoy a sit-down meal in the pop-up restaurant, located in the famous farmhouse itself.

The fair will take place from Saturday, May 27, to Monday, May 29.
