A violinist is returning to her roots when she performs at the Honiton Festival.
Marie Langrishe, from Honiton, will be bringing the festival to an end when she performs Mozart’s violin concerto with the European Union Chamber Orchestra on May 31.
The 20-year-old started learning the violin at the age of seven under the tuition of Brenda Potts before continuing her studies at the Royal Academy of Music.
It was there she was awarded the junior violin prize, was commended in the chamber music prize and led the Junior Academy Symphony Orchestra.
Marie is now in her third year at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
The Honiton Festival 2012 Season Finale Concert, takes place on Thursday, May 31, starting at 7.30pm.
The European Union Chamber Orchestra, will be under musical director Hans-Peter Hofmann.
