Students at Colyton Grammar School are celebrating GCSE results much better than the national average.
83 per cent of all entries achieved grades 9-7.
37.4 per cent of grades awarded were grade 9, with 15 students gaining 10 or more of these top grades.
Most of the GCSE students will go on to join the school’s Sixth Form - which also achieved success in this year's A-Levels. 65.5 per cent achieved A* or As, while the national average was 27.2 per cent.
Headteacher Tim Harris said: “This cohort had barely started at this school when Covid restrictions hit, and we are immensely proud of both their achievements and resolve in overcoming this unprecedented impact on their lives.
"My congratulations go to them and to my colleagues who have guided them through some of the most challenging years in education history.
"Our GCSE students can now focus on the next phase as they focus on their longer-term dreams, and we look forward to welcoming the majority to our Sixth Form next month.”
