Emergency services were called out to deal with a car fire near the Daisymount junction on the A30.
A car has been ‘completely destroyed’ after a fire at a busy junction near Ottery St Mary this morning (Wednesday, April 18).
Fire crews from Middlemoor, Danes Castle and Ottery were called out to reports of a vehicle on fire on the A30 at the junction of Pattesons Cross and Daisymount at around 6am.
Crews have extinguished the fire, which was deemed accidental.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “On arrival, crews confirmed vehicle well alight with no persons trapped.
“Crews used two breathing apparatus sets and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. “Crews also used an environment pack to deal with some fuel that was entering nearby drains.”
Devon and Cornwall Police say that traffic is slow on the A30 westbound near Fenny Bridges due to the incident.
