Community College team completes the 35-mile hike faster than any previous group from their school
Trail-blazing Honiton Community College students completed the Ten Tors 35-mile challenge in a record time.
They finished four minutes faster than the previous quickest group from their school.
College principal Glenn Smith said: "I am extremely proud of the team and those that trained alongside them. However, it is not the time that is important but the taking part - the triumph over adversity, taking on the challenge and succeeding.
"The Ten Tors Challenge is much more than just a hike of 35 miles over rough terrain in all types of weather - it's a fantastic opportunity to develop the wider skills and propensities our young adults need to be successful in the lifetime."
Taking part were Charlie Knight, Ross Hurford, Hattie Taviner, Byron Spence, Jai Freemantle and Luke Matthews
Also competing in the 55 mile event were Honiton students Tom Lilley and Ollie Bright.
Mr Smith added: "I would like to thank all the staff, parents and volunteers that make it possible to run this event successfully. In particular, Helen Howarth team manager, Warren Oak and John Lilley, team leaders, and Rob Bright, assistant team leader.
