Thrills and spills as Lifeboat Week pulls in the crowds
Crowds were entertained to action in the air and on the water as Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week continued this week.
The Army parachute team, The Red Devils, thrilled spectators with their precision landing on the Cobb sands on Thursday.
Previously large crowds watched six bathtubs race across Lyme Bay to the harbour.
Winners were the Lyme Regis Youth Sailing Club. The lifeboat crew came 4th, and the team from the Alexandra came last and had to be helped ashore by the lifeboat and its crew!
Meanwhile 600 hotdogs were sold at the lifeboat crew’s barbecue on the slipway.
And there was real life drama when lifeboat crew member Seb Cope went to the rescue after 11-year-old holidaymaker Dylan Cox, from Bristol, dropped his phone into the harbour.
Donning goggles and his wet suit, Seb dived to the sea bed for 15 minutes and found the phone.
