Michael Jones tops poll which attracted a 16 per cent turnout
Honiton has elected three new town councillors
Residents went to the polls yesterday (Thursday, March 9) to fill the vacancies on the St Paul’s Ward.
Michael Jones, of Joslin Road, topped the ballot with 374 votes ahead of Terry Durrant, of Prime Grove, on 344, and Duncan R Sheridan-Shaw, of Manor Crescent, with 324.
The unsuccessful candidate was Les Lunt, of Cotfield Close, who received 234 votes.
There was a turnout of 630 representing some 16 per cent of the 3,971 residents eligible to vote. There were three spoiled ballot papers.
