School set to hold two races this weekend.

An Uplyme school is hosting two races this weekend which is set to leave participants wheezing at the finish line.

Mrs Ethelston’s C of E Primary School is hosting the Mrs E’s Big Wheeze roughly 10km run and Small Wheeze 2km fun run on Sunday, July 21, starting at 9.15am.

The run, organised by the Parents, Teachers & Friends Organisation, boasts a ‘truly exhilarating route’ which runs through woods and hills.

The trek is being held to raise funds for replenishing the school’s library.

Sarah Vincent, Parents, Teachers and Friends Society secretary, said: “This is the first time we’ve done the Big Wheeze so we hope to see lots of racers compete.”

“A last minute prize of ‘King of the Hill’ has been added to the run - as the race starts at the bottom of a big hill, the first person to the top wins a special prize.

“We’d like to also thank Busy Bee Florist, River Cottage, Axminster Power Tools and Lyme Bay Winery for contributing prizes for the race.”

If you would like to join the event and run the route as a race, apply either enter on the day at Mrs Ethelston’s school or send in the application form found at www.acornfederation.co.uk/mrsethelstons/mrs-es-big-wheeze.
