Two vehicles in collision outside the town’s hospital
Firefighters have freed the elderly woman trapped in a car following a two vehicle collision outside Axminster Hospital, in Chard Street, this afternoon (Wednesday June 5).
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service said one fire appliance from Axminster and one from Colyton attended. Crews extricated the casualty with hydraulic rescue equipment and the patient was transferred to hospital via Ambulance. Crews made the vehicles safe. The accident caused traffic choas in the town - with adjacent Stoney Lane reported being blocked following another minor collision there.
