Wreaths blessed before being taken out to sea by the lifeboat crew
Around 200 people formed a harbour-side congregation for yesterday’s (Sunday) annual blessing the boats service in Lyme Regis.
The town’s vicar, the Rev Jane Skinner, led the inter-denominational service at the RNLI lifeboat station.
Wreaths representing the RNLI, fishermen, the Navy and The Royal British Legion, were blessed and then taken out to sea by the lifeboat crew.
Mayor Sally Holman read the lesson and was accompanied at the service by town councillors.
The town band provided music for the hymns.
