Crews from Axminster and Lyme called to blaze at Hawkchurch
Axminster firefighters were called to reports of a barn fire at Hawkchurch in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Crews from Charmouth and Lyme Regis and a water carrier from Bridport were also summoned to tackle the blaze at Downash Lane.
On arrival, at around 3.30am, they reported that a tractor was on fire inside an open ended single storey building. The barn itself was not involved and the vehicle was being removed to open air. The Lyme Regis appliance and the water carrier were not required.
The vintage tractor was severely damaged by the fire which was extinguished using two hose reel jets.
