But I must also mention Steve, Craig, Tracey and Stuart!
My friends Steve, Craig, Tracey and Stuart were commenting recently that I never mention them in my ‘Thought For The Week’, or use the wise advice they give me in this column and that I mention my children a lot.
Well, they’ve got a mention now - but it did make me think about why I talk about my children. It’s because I learn so much from them, because I care about them and because (although they’re not perfect) I am proud of them.
Parents hope their children reflect something of us, when they’re good anyway. As a son, I also hope I reflect something of the good I learned from my parents and grandparents.
The Bible says God loves us as a perfect parent, and for those who call ourselves Christians our actions reflect, for better or worse, how others see God. I hope I make God proud of me.
