Officers seek witnesses after Woodroffe School pupil suffered broken bones in collision with car
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 12-year-old girl was seriously injured in a traffic accident at Lyme Regis yesterday (Tuesday, May 22).
The Woodroffe School pupil was in collision with a car in Pound Road, at around 8.20am, suffering broken bones in her foot and ankle, as well as crush injuries.
Police say she has undergone surgery, with further surgery planned.
PC Richard Winward said: “Early indications are that she crossed the road behind a bus, and was in collision with the vehicle. I am making enquiries with the bus company, as most busses are fitted with CCTV, and this should show what occurred leading up to, and when, the accident happened. “Within seconds of the accident other motorists had stopped to offer comfort and assistance and I am very grateful to them.
People with information should call officers on 101.
