100 new trees planted.

A group of volunteers were digging deep to show their community spirit by helping to rejuvenate the Glen in Honiton.

Members of Transition Town Honiton joined forces with students from Honiton Community College’s Eco-Council to mark the spring equinox with a special tree planting.

The trees, including species of hazel, holly, hawthorn and dogwood, were donated by the Woodland Trust.

By the end of the morning 100 trees had been planted, which will be looked after by Transition Town Honiton and the college’s Eco-Council for the next three years.
