Bingo session raises over 800 for the cause and the Rotary Club chips in with another 700
LYME Regis lifeboat crew is well on the way to reaching its 3,500 target to buy new lifejackets.
Just over 812 was raised towards the fund at the Woodmead Halls on Friday, when some 150 people attended the RNLI ‘SOS Day’ prize bingo session.
And the town’s Rotarians added another 700 to the appeal, half the donations received during the Lyme Lunge on New Year’s Day.
The club, which has organised swim for the past four years, gave the remaining money to its Shelter Box charity.
President-elect Peter Mills presented a cheque to SOS Day organiser and volunteer crew member Neville Causley at Lyme Regis lifeboat station.
