Cold start to the working week as temperature drops to as low as three degrees in the Axe Valley.
The unseasonably warm start to October has officially ended this morning (Monday) - with the temperature in some part of East Devon falling to three degrees.
The midweek Herald recorded the temperature at three degrees in Kilmington, near Axminster, at 6am today.
Forecasters say temperatures this winter could be “below average” with further heavy snowfall.
It is all a far cry from just over a week ago, when the district bathed in temperatures warmer than the best part of the summer.
