Conservationists spent 24 hours logging the reserve’s plant and wildlife
NATURE enthusiats worked round the clock to carry out an in depth study of the Axe Estuary wetlands.
East Devon District Council’s ranger team and a party of expert naturalists conducted the 24-hour “bio blitz” in an attempt to find, identify and record as much of the plant and animal life that call the are their home.
Whether it walks, crawls, swims, flies or grows they were there to log it, as a record of the reserves’ bio-diversity.
Small workshops and sessions were held throughout the event, from the
field studies base, to introduce methods of collection and identify species found through the day.
