Ringing mechanism to be repaired on historic timepiece ahead of its full restoration
TOWN councillors at Seaton are hoping for a ding-dong in the seafront gardens next month.
Mayor Peter Burrows told members that mending the Jubilee Clock’s broken chimes would be the first phase of its restoration.
Once the scaffolding had been erected, work to repair the fabric of the historic timepiece could then commence.
He added that all the work will be done at no cost to the town or district councils.
