Honiton Town Council to hold extraordinary meeting next Monday.
HONITON Town Council has outlined proposals to increase the annual precept in a bid to support community groups who are likely to be affected by the spending cuts.
Taxpayers will see a slight increase in the precept charge with the annual cost per household rising from 34.52 to 37.82.
The suggested increase will mean that the town council will have funds available to support community organisations, which are likely to be hit by the expected cuts to grants from East Devon District Council and Devon County Council.
This rate is less than that paid by taxpayers in other East Devon towns.
An extraordinary meeting of the council will be held at 7pm next Monday (January 24) to discuss the proposed increase. Members of the public can attend, but not speak on the matter.
