Nigel Phillips, of A & A CC, gained maximum points.
NIGEL Phillips, of Kilmington-based A & A CC, claimed the top prize at Honiton and District Carnival.
His stunning walking entry beat the cream of major floats to take Best Overall.
Announcing the result, carnival committee member Robb Sleeman said Mr Phillips had gained the maximum points possible from judges.
The win was enthusiastically applauded by more than 200 carnivalites who packed into Turks Head Function Rooms to hear the results.
This year’s carnival was one of the biggest yet, attracting around 60 entries.
Full results to follow.
This year, police did not provide road blocks.
Road blocks and marshalling was provided by Somerset and West Dorset Marshals, with support from Wellington Carnival Committee and Honiton and District Lions Club.
