HONITON Community College is to hold a careers convention in the town next month.

HONITON Community College is to hold a careers convention in the town next month.

The event will take place on Thursday, February 4, at Honiton Sports Centre, between 3pm and 7pm.

A college spokesperson said: "Everyone is welcome to come along and find out about careers, further education, training and volunteering.

"So far we have over 30 confirmed exhibitors including local and national companies, universities, colleges and training providers."

Local sixth form colleges and several universities will be attending and will have plenty of information about further education including degrees, A levels, NVQs and the new diplomas.

Several local training providers will be able to advise on apprenticeships and other training available to young people, and there will be the chance to try out different careers with lots of hands-on and interactive stands.

The college has also had an excellent response from local and national employers who will be able to offer information about careers in areas such as the Armed Forces, engineering, animal care, childcare, banking, care work and volunteering.

The careers convention is open to the community as well as students and parents.

There are still a few stands available for employers and organisations: for more information please contact Sue Miller at Honiton Community College on (01404) 42283.
