The owners of these properties usually justify themselves by saying they benefit the community with the money they spend. If these properties were lived in 365 days a year, the inhabitants would spend far more so it is no argument. Second home owners claim they like the area because it is "unspoilt", but they are spoiling it. Nobody needs two homes. If somebody likes the area so much, why not use local hotels and benefit the community that way?
