CRUELTY charges could be brought against the owner of a dead pony found dumped near a farm in Luppitt, Honiton, at the weekend. The mare showed signs of carrying a foal.
East Devon District Council staff were called to a gateway close to Overday Farm after a report from a member of the public.
It appeared that the small pony had been dumped from the back of a vehicle on Saturday afternoon. It is thought that it may have died in the process of giving birth.
Police in Honiton have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
