A new Thai restaurant has opened in Seaton this weekend - and offers a delicious range of authentic Thai dishes. Taste of Thai on 18 Fore Street, Seaton is run by Seaton resident Steve Carter and his wife Kee, the opening took place on Saturday, (October 8) with a ribbon cutting ceremony with Seaton Mayor Amrik Singh. Kee is head chef of the 18-seater, sit in restaurant which also offers takeaway. Food is cooked from scratch to order to tailor all tastebuds.

Towards the end, they were getting so many orders, they had to turn some away. The couple then decided to open a restaurant. And took over the former Kathys Wild Caper in Fore Street. Owner Steve Carter said: “It was clear they would have to expand the business. And the cause of this ever-increasing popularity? Kee’s traditional Thai cooking which is tantalisingly tasty. “Thailand is known as ‘The Land of Smiles’ and at the Taste of Thai we want our guests leaving feeling full and happy.’ When asked how she felt about her new venture Kee said, ‘Slightly nervous, but we can't wait to welcome everyone to Taste of Thai.’ The menu includes starters such as vegetable spring rolls, pork dumplings, fish cakes with sweet chilli sauce, and Chicken Satay, battered asparagus with plum sauce.

Mains include pad Thai noodles, green curry, red curry, panang curry and coconut curry - all of which are available with chicken, pork, prawn or vegetables. And for dessert, delicious coconut sticky rice with Mango sorbet.
