A Honiton based band will return to the town for a unique concert at the Beehive.

Folk band Joseph O’keefe and Cole Stacey’s make up the India Electric Co and will play the Beehive Honiton on Thursday November 17.

The band return to Honiton after six weeks performing sell out shows across Germany, Sweden, Poland and Austria and Warsaw.

The group were described by BBC Radio 2 as 'phenomenal, the most extraordinary musicians'

It follows on from their hugely impressive performance at London’s Roundhouse as part of their tour with the legendary Midge Ure.

Honiton-raised singer Cole Stacey said: “We’re buzzing to back in our hometown, it’s been a long wait but we’ve always been blown away by the support we receive here. We’re recording our new album here at the moment so it feels right to be bringing these new tunes to our favourite venue."

It’s the first time the band have ventured back out in the UK after a relentless first tour of Europe since the pandemic which saw the likes of Radio 1 declare them as ‘a full musical odyssey.’ Having burst onto the UK folk scene in 2015 Joseph O’keefe and Cole Stacey’s unique approach has seen them blending traditional instruments, folk melodies and subtle electronic influences for shows including The London Palladium and Hammersmith Apollo and recent live sessions on BBC Radio 6 Music and Radio 2. BBC radio 3 captioned them as “quirky and glittery - a veritable musical magpie’s nest.”
