The Lyme Regis Candles on the Cobb event held in late summer this year raised over £22,000 for local and international charities.
The amount raised makes it one of the highest amounts raised in a one day event in Lyme Regis.
The money raised by selling the individual candles and collections on the day was only possible through the generous support of local organisations and our primary sponsors LYME BAY HOLIDAYS , THE SWIM RESTAURANT, and QUINNELL CANDLES for providing the candles, ADVANCE DIGITAL PRINT for the certificates and all the many volunteers.
The Charities The British Red Cross and the local branch of The Cancer Research have received £5500 each and the remainder is being distributed to local youth organisations. Applications were invited by the 30th November and these have now been selected.
A spokesman for Lyme Regis Roatary said: "We are pleased to announce that the following organisations have been successful."
