Operation Rudolph, helped give out 240 gifts and more than 100 food boxes last Christmas.

240 gift recipients were delivered to more than 80 different families. With every family, they also tried to include an 'adult gift' - so even the adults got a gift from Santa.

More than 100 meal boxes were delivered. These had meat and vegetable for Christmas day, with eggs and a few extra bits.  All donated from Combe Farm Shop - which fed around 420 people.

120 people were given a 'community meal'. People had booked to come and share a meal or have a delivery.  Plus, some walk ins.  More than half the volunteers stayed and shared a meal as well.

In total the project supported more than 900 people in Honiton. Approximately 25 per cent up from last year.

A spokesman for Operation Rudolph said: "As you know we choose not to have complicated referral processes, making it as easy as possible for everyone, knowing many people will 'pass it forward' or give back when they can.

"We also worked with other community groups and support, such as the East Devon Council Resilience team and Open Door in Exmouth.

"Lisa, the manager from Open Door, had told me they were having a Christmas day meal, but limited space, so asked if she could pass on our details.

"Yes - and we then had two people call independently of each other, with their permission we linked them in for a lift share and now I believe meet up for coffee at Open Door."
