Lyme Regis lifeboat was launched over the weekend to a person trapped in mud near Charmouth.
The boat launched at around 6pm on Saturday, March 25 to assist coastguards ashore when a man was reported to be trapped in mud half a mile from Charmouth.
A member of the volunteer crew swam ashore to reassure the man who was then assisted to safety by coastguards. The lifeboat crew stayed on scene until the man, and others with him, were said by coastguards to be out of danger from the high tide.
The lifeboat crew returned to the lifeboat station an hour later. This was the sixth emergency call answered by the RNLI volunteers so far this year.
