Around 20 men attended a Blokes' Brunch at the George Hotel in Axminster on Saturday, March 25, to hear a male-oriented talk on health issues.

Local GP Dr Nick Hodges spoke on topics including prostate cancer symptoms, tests and treatments, mental health issues and how to access treatment, and information on new treatments for obesity.

The Blokes' Brunch is a regular event organised as part of Axminster and Lyme Regis Cancer Support’s Education Programme.

A spokesperson for ALCS said: "Men sometimes find it difficult to access health information and the Blokes' Brunch is an open event bringing a group of men together, over a free breakfast, to listen to and be able to raise queries with  a local GP."

ALCS holds 4 Blokes' Brunches a year, alternating between Lyme Regis and Axminster, along with various other educational events. The charity is holding a skin awareness event in the summer.
