An interactive screening of the classic TV show Murder, She Wrote comes to The Gateway Theatre in Seaton on Saturday, April 22, with the audience challenged to solve the crime before Jessica Fletcher.
The show is hosted by Tim Benzie, an award-winning playwright and a ‘superfan’ of the TV show.
In the episode Broadway Malady, Jessica heads to New York City where she gets caught up in a murder mystery. The ‘solvealong’ show features a race to solve the crime via the ‘Fameometer’ and ‘Suspiciometer’, a Cabot Cove quiz, a singalong to the theme tune with new lyrics, and clips and biogs of the guest stars. There are games, prizes, and plenty of audience participation.
The performance has played to sell-out audiences across the UK and Australia and was rated among Time Out’s ’50 Great Nights Out In London’ in 2019 and 2021.
