The Honiton and District Agricultural Association has announced the launch of an annual educational bursary.
The new bursary is in memory of former trustee Heather Burrough, who died in August last year.
A spokesman for Honiton and District Agricultural Association said: "Following Heather’s death, the Association felt that this would be a fitting tribute to recognise Heather’s enormous involvement in the H&DAA and in particular her efforts to encourage and offer guidance to young people to become involved in the association.
"Heather’s enthusiasm for the association knew no bounds and she took great pleasure in sharing her knowledge and championing the next generation."
The bursary is an award of up to £1,000 for one person per annum to support a student in secondary or further education studying any of the following subjects: agriculture, arboriculture, forestry, rural skills and conservation. The scheme applies for people within a 20 mile radius of Honiton town centre. The course can be at any accredited school or college.
Applications for the Heather Burrough Bursary will open in April 2023.
The award will be presented annually at the Honiton Agricultural Show.
