More than 70 local food and drink producers will be setting up their stands in Honiton on Saturday (August 19) for this year’s Gate to Plate festival.
The event, run by eat:Festivals, aims to bring a wide range of producers into the town centre where they can attract a large number of customers, while also bringing visiting trade to local shops and businesses. Most of those selling their wares are based either in Honiton or within 30 miles of the town, with just a few from further afield.
This year there are more than 20 sellers who are new to the Honiton festival, including the Dunkeswell-based Many Hands Brewery, Crumbcoat Bakery in Cullompton and Inyama Biltong in Cranbrook.
The stalls will run all the way from the New Street junction to the Kings Road roundabout. As well as the huge range of food and drink on offer, there will be plenty of entertainment: a Punch & Judy show, strolling performers, DJs and a show by the theatre group Tidal Tales Collective at 2pm.
