A council chairman took to the streets of the mid Norfolk village of Narborough in support of two worthy causes.

Councillor Peter Wilkinson, chairman of Breckland Council, organised the walk to raise money for the stillbirth and neonatal death charity Sands UK and Swaffham and Litcham Home Hospice Support.

During the walk, Mr Wilkinson was joined by Sir Samuel Roberts and Lady Georgie Roberts, the hospice's chief executive.

Mr Wilkinson said: "I am deeply touched by the outpouring of support from our community for this important cause.

“The generosity of those who donated to our cause will help Swaffham and Litcham Home Hospice continue their invaluable work in helping those most in need.

"Together, we can all make a significant difference in the lives of those facing serious illnesses, ensuring that they receive the care and comfort they deserve."

The home hospice service offers comprehensive support and reassurance to around 250 patients and their families every year. It employs eight part-time staff and more than 50 volunteers.
