East Devon Crematorium will be holding a 'Never out of Mind' service of remembrance on Sunday November 5 from 3pm to 4pm.

The event is being organised by The Baton military charity in partnership with East Devon Crematorium.

This will be an opportunity to remember and honour those who have given their lives in public duty - so that we can live with freedom of choice, peace and safety. The occasion will include a roll call, lighting of candles and time for quiet reflection of those who are loved and lost. Photographs and anecdotes of these special people can also be included in the order of service. The event will conclude with a relaxed gathering and afternoon tea.

If you would like to attend, email Katherine Ohlsen at office@eastdevoncrematorium.co.uk quoting remembrance service or call 01404 823017. A seating is limited a prompt response is recommended to avoid disappointment.

You can also join on the day by live webcast. Those joining from afar are also invited to have a loved one included in the roll call and order of service, email your requests to the crematorium.

The Baton was set up in 2008, The Baton helps members of the military and their families adapt to life outside the armed forces.

The charity is also the Grant Holder for the project One Is Too Many (OiTM) which is an endorsement of trust from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. The project is undertaking two year research with bereaved families who have lost a loved one through suicide. The invisible injury of mental health has been a huge issue for military personnel for decades - and it is hoped that through this work, those who are at significant risk of suicide will receive the life-saving support desperately needed.
