Honiton charity See The Future held a bucket collection day at the first Premiership rugby match between Exeter Chiefs and Saracens on Saturday, (October 14).

A team of volunteers positioned themselves around Sandy Park with buckets and card readers to raise money for the charity as part of the Exeter Chiefs Foundation. At half time the volunteers headed to the corporate areas to raise more money. At the end of the game, they headed outside to collect pint glasses from fans, which The Exeter Chiefs Foundation then wash and re-use for the next match. The Foundation then donates a sum of money to the charity.

Each charity is given a couple of games each season to raise money for each charity.

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation raises funds at the Exeter Chiefs match day games via collections in the grounds and car parking.  This season 27 charities assist in co-ordinating and collecting all the monies on match days at Sandy Park, which are then shared across all those who assisted in the collections across the season.

Leanne, founder of See The Future told the Herald: "A massive thank you to all the amazing volunteers who supported See The Future today while cheering on chiefs. What a brilliant day of fundraising while the sun was shining, I was able to talk to people about my charity and spread awareness to why it exists, and to top it off, they won! well done boys.

"Thank you again for your support, for giving up your free time in the name of charity. You are all just brilliant. I hope you all have a relaxing evening like you deserve as you all worked so hard.

See the Future was set up by Leanne Herrett to fund research to help treat sight-threatening diseases and to promote the importance of having a regular eye test.
