The Invisible Man theatre production is coming to The Beehive Honiton on Saturday, October 21.

Derek Webb, playwright said: "It is a hilarious adaptation of H.G Wells' classic story presented by, Our Star Theatre Company. HG Wells’ The Invisible Man has rarely been adapted for the stage. There have been many film adaptations over the years where clever editing has helped keep the illusion of our titular role in tact. In our offering, Derek Webb (writer), has managed to create a script that uses a range of techniques and ploys to keep our man invisible. This classic title’s retelling takes the audience on a comedic ride, featuring quick costume changes, fast prop work and witty exchanges.

The View From The Stalls said: “Just another day for Our Star Theatre Company. A show performed with an impressive range of accents, styles and costume changes, these three actors expertly depict both men and women such as a very flirty pub landlady, a vicar and a down-and-out tramp. A very funny show and one which should go down well when hitting regional theatres, so I really must insist, get your tickets now.

Derek added: “First of all let me declare an interest: I wrote this adaptation of the classic HG Wells’ story. As a writer though you are never quite sure what the theatre company will do with your script. In the hands of Our Star Theatre Company the answer is simple - they made it into an absolute joy to watch from start to finish - side-splittingly funny at times, energetic, quick changing brilliance. What you might call a ‘Must-See’ in fact."

Our Star Theatre Company has produced over 15 professional touring shows since its inception, engaging with local performers, technical staff and venues in and around Herefordshire and The South West to celebrate and highlight the talent within the arts in our lovely home region.
