Plans have been submitted to install steps on Sidmouth Esplanade leading to the cricket club grounds. 

The proposed steps are next to the retaining wall that supports the cricket field between the buildings cut into the higher level which were originally shelters with seating but have recently been converted to a fast food outlet, toilets / showers and a base for the surf life saving club.

The wall has a castellated top and is constructed of random stonework with a dressed string, coping and arch framing. The proposal is to install a stainless steel stair to provide access up to the footpath surrounding the cricket field.
