Ten Honiton charities and good causes have each received £250 from the town's Lions Club - and two young Thai boxers have also benefited.

The money handed out by the Lions was raised by the club's annual charity draw which brought in £2,600 for community charities and good causes.

The organisations that received £250 each are: TRIP Community Transport Association, Honiton Food Bank, Honiton Carers Support Group, Open Arms East Devon (a mental health support group), See the Future (a sight awareness charity), Honiton Admiral Nurse Fund, Honiton Memory Café (a dementia support group), Royal British Legion - Honiton Branch Poppy Appeal, Honiton 55+ Centre and Honiton Community Building (CUB).

The Lions also gave £200 to teenagers, Jamie White and Barnaby Rowland, who are raising money to fund their visit to Thailand to represent Great Britain at the Muay Thai World Games in February 2024. Muay Thai is known in the West as Thai Boxing.

Following the recent earthquake in Morocco, Honiton Lions have donated £500 to the International Lions appeal to assist the victims of the disaster.
