Jubilee Lodge in Seaton has presented Devon Air Ambulance with a cheque for £2,293.16.

The majority of this was raised at a Summer Fete held earlier this year, attended by apartment owners and the community who raised £1,293.16. This was topped up by £1,000 from the Churchill Foundation, who run the lodge.

The fundraising was organised in memory of Seaton retiree John Claydon, who died in a car accident earlier this year. It was also to show support for his friend and passenger Jane, an apartment owner at Jubilee Lodge, who survived the accident thanks to Devon Air Ambulance.

Devon Air Ambulance Trust Volunteer Simon Card OBE was presented with the cheque by Jane and members of the Churchill team on Wednesday November 15 during a coffee morning.

Manager Karon Banks said: “Jane’s recovery has been an inspiration to all of us, and we’re very proud to have raised so much for this excellent charity. It was great to welcome Simon to the Lodge and present him with the cheque, and we’re delighted that the Churchill Foundation was also able to contribute £1,000 to boost our total. We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us.”
