Pecorama is opening its 1950s Pullman carriage Orion for high teas over the Christmas period.
Hot drinks, sandwiches and a selection of savoury treats will be served in the iconic and historic train car at the visitor attraction in Beer.
The Pullman Company epitomised luxury train travel in the 1950s and played a pivotal role in shaping the history of rail travel throughout the 20th century. The cars were synonymous with first-class rail travel, offering a level of service and luxury that set them apart.
Pecorama’s car Orion was among those specifically selected to operate on the route between London and Paris, also known as the ‘Golden Arrow’.
During the heyday of the Pullman Golden Arrow, celebrities, dignitaries, and socialites regularly travelled in its carriages. The train became a symbol of prestige and a preferred mode of transportation for those seeking both speed and style.
Pecorama’s Orion opened today (Monday, December 4) and will be open until Friday, December 15.
Visitors to Pecorama are welcome to turn up for cake and hot drinks in Orion, but bookings online are recommended; visit www.percorama.co.uk.
