The Exeter and East Devon branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has announced when the 2024 Exeter Festival of Beer will take place.

After several successful years at the Exeter City Football Club the festival moved to a new venue for the 2023 festival and will be returning to the Exeter Corn Exchange for 2024.

The Exeter Festival of Beer is a celebration of ales and alcoholic beverages. It provides an opportunity to sample a wide range of brews over the two and half days from British brewery’s far and wide. The festival has regularly attracted around 1600 people in the past and last year was no exception.

For cider lovers there is the opportunity to sample a number of quality Westcountry ciders and perrys. A full list of the beers and ciders will be available on the Exeter and East Devon CAMRA website nearer the day. Alternatively, you can pick up a copy with your commemorative glass on the door.

Devon-based beer writer Tim Webb, co-author of The World Atlas of Beer, will be running two tasting sessions - Understanding Porters and Stouts Des Grandes Bières de France (Some Great Ales from France). Entry to these sessions are by ticket only which is available on the website.

The festival will be open from Thursday, January 18 from 4.30pm to 10pm, Friday 19 and Saturday 20 from 11:00 - 10pm. This is not an all-ticket event, but after last year's success it is advisable to buy a ticket in advance. Full details will shortly be on the website.

A spokesman for CAMRA said: “We are really excited to be able to return for a second year at the Exeter Corn Exchange. This change of venue was well received by all who attended last year and we look forward to seeing you all there again for what we hope will continue to be a festival with a very friendly atmosphere. We would also like to thank all our sponsors and supporters who help make this event possible."
