A cheque for £725 has been presented to Seaton Hospice at Home by the organiser of a fundraising harp concert that took place last month.

Sidmouth resident Jan Strapp wanted to express her gratitude to local hospice services for the care they've given to her husband Roy, who has terminal cancer and vascular dementia. The couple have lived in Seaton as well as Sidmouth and been supported by both towns' Hospice at Home services.

The concert by Celtic harpist Fionnuala Kirby took place at The Blue Ball on February 12 and raised a total of £1,450, which is being divided equally between Seaton Hospice at Home and its Sidmouth equivalent.

Jan presented the cheque to Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends, who fund Seaton Hospice at Home, on Thursday, March 7.

A spokesperson for the League said: "We would like to thank Jan Strapp for organising this musical event and raising an amazing amount for the Seaton Hospice at Home service, a service completely funded by the League of Friends."
