Seaton Tramway secured two accolades at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards last night (March 14).

At an event at the Great Hall, Exeter University. The Tramway won Bronze for Large Attraction of the Year and Gold award for Experience of the Year for The Story Tram.

The event ends with a culmination of 12 months of rigorous evaluation, saw over 300 distinguished guests, winners, and tourism leaders gather to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the region's tourism industry. Amongst the winners were various businesses, ranging from cafes and pubs to attractions and holiday accommodations.

Chief executive of Seaton Tramway, Jenny Nunn said: "We are deeply honoured to receive these awards, which underscore our commitment to providing exceptional experiences for our visitors. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and passion of our team at Seaton Tramway."

The South West Tourism Excellence Awards celebrate the remarkable contributions of businesses on the region's tourism landscape.

Robin Barker, director of services for Tourism Ltd, who manages the Awards, said: “The impact of these awards on the region’s top tourism businesses never ceases to amaze me.  It means so much to them.  Many congratulations to each and every one of them.” 

The launch of the 2024/25 tourism awards begins in April with a series of events spanning throughout the autumn and winter. 

Seaton Tramway are now waiting to see if their Gold award for Experience of the Year earns them a nomination to represent the region in the national VisitEngland awards, which concludes in Liverpool in June.

Seaton Tramway are currently operating their tram service every weekend, and then daily from 23rd March. Seaton Station is currently hosting the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition.
