East Devon District Council has laid an additional 120 metres of matting to Beer beach, which improves access for residents and tourists in the summer.

The matting allows more people, such as those who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters, to come onto the beach who usually can't because of the pebbles.

East Devon District Council is planning similar projects for Seaton, Sidmouth, and Budleigh Salterton, as part of its commitment to improving access for all.

This project builds upon the work done jointly with Beer Parish Council last July, and was supported by a generous grant of £5,300 from the East Devon National Landscape’s Access for All fund.
