Ottery St Mary Fire Station, part of Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service held some training with a Fire Station from Exeter.

On Monday evening (June 3), crews from Danes Castle brought along their Aerial Ladder Platform to allow the Ottery crews to familiarise and train themselves on the equipment in the case of an emergency.

The engine has a range of capabilities to be used at a variety of incidents that any crew could be called to.

In a post on Facebook, Ottery Fire Station said: "This evening we were joined by our colleagues from Danes Castle Fire Station - Exeter who brought out their ALP for us to familiarise and train with.

"This is a fantastic asset and has a range of capabilities to be used at a variety of incidents. Thank you again to the Danes Castle crew for taking the time to bring it out to us."

While they were on the ladder, they also managed to snap some brilliant birds eye view shots of the town. They added: "We took the opportunity to take some lovely photos of the town, enjoy."
