A new art exhibition exploring the quieter moments of everyday life is set to open at The Beehive, with visitors invited to view a collection of oil paintings by artist Mark Carnall.
The exhibition will run for two weeks from Tuesday, August 4, in The Beehive's Art Gallery.
Mark describes his work as an exploration of "the quiet, unspoken narratives that live within the human experience".
He said: "I am drawn to the subtle details, a gaze, a posture, the shadow across a room, moments that carry emotional weight without needing explanation. Through painting, I seek to translate these fleeting, ordinary fragments of life into images that feel both intimate and enduring."
Mark said his practice had evolved from a technical study of form and texture into a deeper investigation of atmosphere, emotion and story.
He said: "I work with oil paint to balance structural precision with expressive brushwork, using light, shadow, and colour to shape mood as much as form. I aim to capture not just appearance, but presence, the stillness and vulnerability."
Speaking about the themes behind his work, Mark added: "At the heart of my work is a belief that the most powerful art does not merely decorate a space, but reveals something truthful about how we live, feel, and remember.
"I am interested in the discipline of seeing: slowing down enough to notice the beauty, tension, and poetry embedded in everyday life, and rendering those moments with honesty and care."
