A & A carnivalites are going the extra mile

A FATHER and son from Kilmington will today (Wednesday) embark on a sponsored walk to raise money for their carnival club.

A FATHER and son from Kilmington will today (Wednesday) embark on a sponsored walk to raise money for their carnival club.Nigel Phillips and 11-year-old Alex aim to walk the coast path between Exmouth and Dartmouth.The trek is expected to take three days to complete and the pair will be camping en-route. The walk continues a route started by Mr Phillips last year.Sponsorship pledges already total £400, but the A and A Carnival Club members are hopeful of raising more towards this year's entry in the walking wheeled class.In the run-up to the walk, club members wore last year's carnival costumes while fundraising at Miller's Farm Shop, in Kilmington.Mr Phillips would like to thank the Miller family for their support.A and A CC is the most successful club in its class in East Devon.Sponsorship can be pledged by calling (01297) 35302.
