I would like to answer Ms Bewsher's letter of January 14.Ms Bewsher, your letter reminded me of the old saying "She got on to her bicycle and rode off in all directions" (pedalled).Sifting through your narrative and rhetoric, you aver never to have met snobs or class. Working closely with people who agreed with you, the truth is difficult to realise. The question of voting needs little space, a fatuous remark.Yes, wannabes - the answer is in your letter. Eight of your friends voted onto Seaton Council, why? Because they wanted to be, perhaps?I have been fortunate to have had many years as chairman of two councils, one for 15 years and the other for eight years, plus 22 years as a magistrate. If I were to give advice to anyone, letter writers in particular, it would be - stick to your subject.Cycling is hard work.Peter DraperMarsh Road Seaton
